I am running Ubuntu 17.10 on a Lenovo yoga 11e. My problem is that the fan doesn't respond to changes in temperature. When I run sensors, I see

thinkpad-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
fan1: 3796 RPM

acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +47.0°C (crit = +90.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 0: +44.0°C (high = +90.0°C, crit = +90.0°C)
Core 1: +44.0°C (high = +90.0°C, crit = +90.0°C)
Core 2: +36.0°C (high = +90.0°C, crit = +90.0°C)
Core 3: +36.0°C (high = +90.0°C, crit = +90.0°C)

Even when the cpu temperatures all drop below 40C, the fan stays on maximum. Also, the acpitz-virtual-0 temperature does not ever seem to change after boot; I'm not sure if this expected.
