When I click the Shut down button, the last one in the menu that appears when I click the top right icon, nothing happens, whereas Suspend and Log out work perfectly.
When I bought this laptop it was working, but since I tried to set up dual boot it stopped working.
16.04 dual-boot shutdown

What happens when you tap the physical power button? Do you get the options to shutdown, reboot etc.? Does it matter if you get to the shutdown icon this way? What happens if you open a terminal and typesudo shutdown now? Please edit your question above and add more information. Please copy and paste any error messages you get as output into your question when you enter the command in the terminal.

Are you running a second dock menu such as Plank or Cairo-Dock?
