Is it safe to dual boot Kubuntu with Windows 10?

I want to switch to Linux but getting rid of Windows would void my warranty. I have 2 SSD's, one 256GB and the other 1TB. I think I could use Windows on the 256GB for games, and Kubuntu on the 1TB for documents, videos, etc.

Would this be safe? Will Windows still be able to spy on me even if I am running Kubuntu? Are there any risks in dual booting, and if so, how do I avoid them?
