brightness controller went missing in ubuntu 17.10 sony vaio vpcs138ec(nvidia 310m)

last night i installed Ubuntu 17.10 and i noticed that the brightness controller was not working like it was showing but not working so i searched the web and got this link
Display brightness control not working in 17.10
.then i followed the procedure (after i modified the command line and restarted my PC) the brightness option was missing can't find it anywhere..can anyone help me fix this problem?please..
here is the image on the file i modified... image of modified file here
PC specs 4gb ram, nvidia310m ,1st gen Intel core i5 520m...(dual boot with windows7)
