          It depends on the amount of RAM. If your RAM is less than 4 GB I would stick with the 32 bit version already installed. The exception would be if you have a package that demands a works with 64-bit Operating System.



          If your RAM is 4 GB or more then you should upgrade to 64-bit version of Ubuntu.



          This is a somewhat simplistic answer without getting into a whole bunch of technical details.
