I have Ubuntu Desktop 17.10 (GNU/Linux 4.16.0-041600rc7-generic x86_64) on a Tablet Winbook TW801 it's working good but when I installed it had to drag and drop the install window over to the right were the HDMI screen is.
Been working on this for 3 days and can't get any thing to work.
If I press the "Print screen" on the keyboard then can see the left side.
This my help showing some commands I did.
raymond@TW801:/home$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2720 x 1280, maximum 8192 x 8192
XWAYLAND0 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
800x1280 59.93 +
XWAYLAND1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
1920x1080 59.96 +
raymond@TW801:/home$ xrandr --output XWAYLAND0 --off --output XWAYLAND1 --auto
xrandr: Configure crtc 1 failed
raymond@TW801:/home$
I can set it with arandr command and it will bring up a window with both screens and I unchecked active for the left screen and the right what I want to active and primary but it just will not save! It don't change so I reboot and still no change. I just get a blank screen. I can right click it to open a terminal. That's about it.
I guess I need to type some command to bring up the built in screen editor but I don't know what that is.
I hope some one can help. Can only do command line things.
Saving I get this error.
XRandR failed: XRandR returned error code 1:xrandr: Configure crtc 1 failed
The screen auto are named XWAYLAND0 and XWAYLAND1 the 0 I can't see the 1 is the HDMI. I can't see it because the ribbon cable latch came off and so it don't make a connection to the LCD screen built in the tablet.
Been working on this for 3 days now. I hope some one here can help.

Worked on this more and looks like I fixed it. Did this:
I used tasksel picked to install both "Xubuntu minimal installation" and "Xubuntu desktop" the 1st one did not seem to change any thing so did the 2nd one after reboots. I guess I could uninstall the minimal one?
But it came up with that desktop and I could run the arandr command and pick to disable the built in display and to make the HDMI and main one and saved it and this time it saved with out any error's. Rebooted and it came up with 2 errors they were my /home/raymond/.profile and /home/raymond/.xprofile they had in them this:
xrandr --output XWAYLAND0 --off --output XWAYLAND1 --primary
On both them I just put a # at the start of the line and saved before that it would just turn off the screen go black and I had to turn it back on.
I don't get it why the build in desktop would not let the xrandr save. But this Xubuntu desktop does.
Looks like got it fixed with time will tell.
