So, I had installed Lubuntu alongside windows 10, with grub. Now recently I installed Ubuntu 16.04, but while selecting grub installation partition, I accidentally selected windows partition.
Now, when I turn on my laptop, I get

Old Grub (choose Lubuntu or windows 10) ---> I choose windows 10 ---> Another Grub (here I get to choose Lubuntu, Ubuntu and Windows 10).

So how do I delete old grub?
One way to fix would have been on windows recovery
bootrec.exe /fixmbr, but removes both GRUBs and I don't want that. How do I fix this?

  • Need to see details, if UEFI or BIOS. You never should install grub to NTFS as it also needs other info. Not sure Windows even boots if grub installed to Partition Boot sector. Which install's grub do you want to be the one in charge? May be best to see details, you can run from your Ubuntu live installer or any working install, use ppa version not older Boot-Repair ISO: Post the link to the Create BootInfo summary report. Is part of Boot-Repair: help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Info and: sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair/home/Home
