Installing from DVD with Asrock H110 Pro BTC+ on blank WD 240GB M2 NGFF SSD.
I get to the 'Detect Disk' screen where it asks which driver to try from a long list?

I think I need to select NVME driver?, but it's not on the list. I have Win10Pro working fine on a different WD 240GB M2 NGFF SSD. Do I need to change BIOS settings for 16.04? Any suggestions appreciated.

Driver or drive? There is no special driver needed to install on NVMe storage. Make sure the BIOS is updated the the latest version, and you are booting in UEFI mode, with Windows-specific BIOS features disabled, and it should just work. It certainly did here.

  • Found the problem. The two M2 SSD's look almost identical, but they're not. A 250GB WD Blue PC SSD SATA M.2 is detected and loads fine, but a 256GB WD Black PCIe Gen 3x4NMe SSD is not detected.
