I have this laptop with a Pentium M+GeForce FX Go 5200M, and I'm trying to get basic functionality out of it on KUbuntu 18.04. When I boot the LiveUSB I'm using, the selection screen for "Try or Install" works perfectly fine, as well as the entire straight install process. However, if I either try it, or install it and boot, there are all kinds of wierd graphical issues with black lines, blue dots and generally broken decor in the UI. Is the GF FX Go 5200M just not capable of the minimum OpenGL required for these effectss? I've installed this image on multiple other laptops of similar age with iGPUs, and it has worked very well for them, so why am I having issues with the dGPU one?
