I am using a Windows 7 computer. I tried Ubuntu 16.04 and 17.10 on VirtualBox, and neither can connect to the internet, even though Windows 7 connects just fine.
I've already tried NAT. In Windows, I've already tried enabling and disabling VirtualBox Host-Only Network, but that's not helping.
For Ubuntu 17, under Wifi it says No Wifi Adapter Found
My router that I use to connect to the Wifi for my Windows 10 computer is a VPN router, if that matters

Unless your system is capable of supporting PCI Passthrough, see virtualbox.org/manual/ch09.html#pcipassthrough , you won't be able to use the host Wifi adapter and it will have to be in NAT or Bridged for it to work.

In VirtualBox, I already have the network set as NAT

You might need to install the VirtualBox Extensions pack into your VM so that it sees network and stuff. virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

and then what? After I installed it and reboot, I still see no wifi in Ubuntu 16 or 17

Forget Wifi, it is probably not going to work at all if your system doesn't support what I put in the first comment. Is the system getting IP addresses at all in it? If you open a terminal and type inifconfig -a
orip route | grep dhcp
what does it return?
