I have a server connected to some hardware which can be used by only 1 person at a time, so is there any way to restrict SSH/other login sessions to a single user at a time, but also allow that single permitted user to have multiple sessions. Currently, I am only looking to control the SSH sessions.

The single user can be anyone (the first user to win the connection ).

  • Thanks Rovo. But It only allows one ssh login, i want to be able to allow multiple logins from the same user, but disallow other user logins. Also the "user" cannot be fixed, once i finish using the system, he can takeover.
