cannot install libgtk2.0-0 correct version

I'm trying to install nvidia-settings:
sudo apt-get install nvidia-settings
But I have the following error:
nvidia-settings: Depends: libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.24.31) but 2.24.30-1ubuntu1.16.04.2 is to be installed
If I do:
sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0
It seems that it tries to install the version 2.24.30
libgtk2.0-0 is already the newest version (2.24.30-1ubuntu1.16.04.2)
So, how can I force the system to install the version 2.24.31 or above?
And why is it taking it from ubuntu 16.04?
Can I force it to take it from a newer release?
