I am new to ubuntu. I want to dual boot it with windows. I have created unallocated disk space in windows. However when I try to install ubuntu it can't find the partition.

When I run $suda parted -l It can only show the USB-drive the installation is on.

Anyone has a clue what I could do to fix this?

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Another thing to check, Is Windows using Basic disk formatting or dynamic ? Dynamic partitioning will not show to Linux.

  • Start Windows. Where you changed the partition size, look to see if it says basic or dynamic.

  • Does this system have RAID or Intel SRT on? If so install AHCI drivers into Windows and change UEFI drive setting to AHCI.
