I am unable to login to my profile. I have access to my passwords and folders and have backed up my data however, I cannot access or open my "Access-My-Private-Data.Desktop". Is there a way to revert back to before the upgrade or fix the boot?
I'm currently using a Live Ubuntu 16.04 USB and I was able to unlock my folders using the command
sudo chown -r ubuntu:ubuntu
I had some LibreOffice .ODT files saved in my music and documents folder that I need to get to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If I have to use a different Live OS then I will, thanks.
boot upgrade live-usb files libreoffice

I'm not following. You should be able to access any files from the live USB; are you not able to? Why did you run the chown command? Can you not boot the 16.04 live USB, or do you mean 17.10 won't boot? When you try to login to your profile, what happens?
