  • My computer boots to a black screen, what options do I have to fix it?

  • 2/15/18 compiz update broke unity

    4 answers

Recently I updated my system which is Ubuntu 16.04, and after the update and a system restart, my computer was left with a black screen and a visible cursor. The starting Ubuntu loading screen was not visible either.
That starting screen is visible now after update but the rest of the system is a black screen and a visible cursor.

  • Sorry, no because I can enter recovery mode then use resume and then I can enter my system, but there is no hardware acceleration, only software rasterization, and I am forced to use lxde because it doesnt require hw acceleration like unity. And still trying some of the first comment but without luck yet.

  • I found the way to fix it. Entering in console mode with crt+alt+f1 logging in then pushing crtl+alt+f7 did the trick! If someone have this problem try it!!
