I have /run/cups/cups.sock, but in cups config it is /var/run/cups/cups.sock

In /etc/cups/cupsd.conf I had the line:
Listen /var/run/cups/cups.sock
But this "file" was in /run/cups/cups.sock (not in /var).
After changing cupsd.conf, I can now see the cups printer in the print dialog.
Why is the caps.sock file in /run/cups?
In /etc/systemd/system/sockets.target.wants/cups.socket
there is a line: ListenStream=/run/cups/cups.sock
So there seems something to be mixed up.

I cant answer this completely because I use Ubuntu Studio 16.04 which might be slightly different, but I found that/var/run
is a symbolic link to/run
on my system.
