Why does my laptop say “Authentication failure” when resuming after suspending?

I have Ubuntu 16.04LTS on my laptop and, up until the last batch of updates were installed when, I suspended by closing the lid it would simply prompt me to enter my password when I resumed by opening the lid.

However, now it says "authentication failure" and prompts me to "switch to greeter". Once I've clicked on that I have no issue unlocking. It's slightly irritating so is it possible to put it back to the way it was?

It's now updated again and seems to have been fixed?
