I'm trying to run ubuntu server 16.04 on my nas/home server with Asrock n3700-itx mobo and two Wd red 3tb Hdds. I'm not new to install ubuntu but also not so pro!

I installed the system but when I boot I get only a black screen... I tried a lot of partitioning scheme and grub installation, because I thinked that was the problem but now I don't know anymore what to do.

I want to make a software raid of two partition, one for swap and the other for LVM where I would put all others partition (/, /home, /usr ecc.).

The disks are gpt,so I tried first to place a bios_grub partition of 1mb OUT of the raid, install grub on it and boot the system with CSM, but I get only a black screen with a small white score!

Second, I made a ESP partition of 600mb OUT of the raid and I installed grub on it. with this configuration I can see the grub boot selection menu, but when I try to boot ubuntu I get a black screen again...

I'm thinking about the possibility that the problem is not grub/boot but another, how
I can discover that?
