Lateley, I've been having problems with the sound in my Kubuntu 17.10. When I'm listening to something (usually online videos [1]), the sound suddenly dies.
When this happens, I try restarting pulseaudio and alsa (as suggested here), but nothing changes. The only way I've found of restoring sound is suspending my laptop (either by closing the lid or running sudo pm-suspend
) and resuming. But after a while, it dies again.
The syslog doesn't say anything and I don't know how to debug this. What can be the problem?
--
[1] Even if the problem starts when I'm watching an online video, the issue is not limited to the browser. I cannot get any sound at all after it breaks.
Edit Apr 26: I tried reinstalling alsa and pulseaudio packages but the problem persists.
