I've got one ubuntu 16.04 LTS installation where I've encountered the strange problem that in certain text input fields every character I type immediately replaces the one typed before. This happens for example in the 'search' input field in libreoffice (but not in the search&replace dialog) or in some web sites visited by firefox. The same sites are ok if I use chrome.



I've got no idea what is the difference between that installation and others where the problem doesn't occur
