second monitor not detected intel® Haswell, ubuntu 16.04

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 with an integrated intel® Haswell graphics card.
I can't seem to work out why my second monitor is not working. I've tried Xrandr and installing the intel graphics tool for linux and updating it. But nothing seems to work.
I'm using a HP monitor which has a display port connection to the computer which is DVI.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
