Can I install different versions of VMWare workstation and VMWare Play in the same base machine?

I am running Ubuntu 16.04. I want to install VMWare Player 12 and VMWare Workstation 14 in the same machine. Because I like to work with VMWare Workstation 14 usually, because it is new and nice =P, but now I want to do this thing in a virtual machine, and it requires VMWare Player 12.
So can this work?
