I am connecting my laptop to a known good port/cable but the wired connection will not connect. This is a brand new fresh install.
The card is recognized:
schwieb@laptop-svr:~$ dmesg | grep "eth0"
[ 1.845548] e1000e 0000:00:19.0 eth0: (PCI Express:2.5GT/s:Width x1) ec:f4:bb:1e:10:e9
[ 1.845550] e1000e 0000:00:19.0 eth0: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection
[ 1.845592] e1000e 0000:00:19.0 eth0: MAC: 11, PHY: 12, PBA No: FFFFFF-0FF
[ 1.846246] e1000e 0000:00:19.0 eno1: renamed from eth0
Here is the interfaces file:
# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
What am I missing?
14.04 ethernet
