My HD crashed but was able to access my SpiderOakOne backup data. Now I need to re-stall the application and add my new computer as a new device. I was able to download the appropriate .tgz file and extract it, but get stuck at that point.

  • Why don't you try installing the .deb instead of the .tgz? Then your package manager can take care of the installation process.

  • OK. I downloaded and extracted the .deb. I can't see it in Synaptic Package Manager and if just click on the extracted file it starts to open the Ubuntu Software app but keeps on processing - the rotating circle thing - and doesn't do anything else.
