I want to start a binary miner program whenever my system starts via autologin.

I have tried every procedure I can find, including putting a link in autostart and adding an entry to the LXSession configuration Autostart manual entry field. I have tried autostarting the app directly, and have also tried creating a launcher and starting that instead. Clicking on either directly works fine, but neither ever works in any autostart method outlined in any of the suggestions I have been able to find.

After several days, I am getting very frustrated.

PLEASE! Isn't there some simple GUI application which I can install that will let me set this up?

  • Thank you, yes, that was one of the first things I tried, both with a direct link and a link to a launcher. In fact, the latter is still in place, but doesn't start anything.
