When I run blueman-manager I get this error

Bluez daemon is not running, blueman-manager cannot continue.
This probably means that there were no Bluetooth adapters detected or Bluetooth daemon was not started.

And then:

$ bluetoothd
D-Bus setup failed: Connection ":1.68" is not allowed to own the service "org.bluez" due to security policies in the configuration file

  • The error seems to indicate a bug in the AppArmor profile for bluetoothd. Try a 17.10 LiveUSB to see if the same problem occurs. If not, then the bug was fixed in the last two years. If the problem remains in 17.10, then please report the bug.
