I am using campus WiFi. I have spoofed my laptop mac address so I can use WiFi on both my mobile and laptop. While connecting WiFi to my mobile and then using mobile tethering I get speed like 60 Mbps. But directly connecting WiFi to laptop gives speed like 10 Mbps. What can I do to get the maximum speed?

Wireless adapter: Realtek RTL8191SEvB Wireless LAN Controller

I am new to Linux community and hence this description might be lacking required information. Kindly mention all the required information.

    Try to ping the default gateway and see if there's any dropped packets or latency. Try ping 192.168.1.1 (this assumes that your default gateway is 192.168.1.1). You can also try speedtest.net

  • I used speedtest.net and I got the following -> Ping = 47ms while speedtest.att.com gives Ping = 262 ms.
