MacPro early 2008 turns on with fans on full bast every other boot?

I can still boot Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on my MacPro (early 2008) every other time, but for some reason the screen goes black and the fans inside turn on full blast every other boot up. Does anybody else have this problem, or know what causes it?
