I recently installed Ubuntu 17.10 but it is very slow when I open VLC media player or when I run simple python program!
I have switched to Xorg session but the issue still exists.

I afraid of downgrading to 17.04 because I have several python packages installed and they are vital for me.

Is there any way out of this problem?

Regards.

  • What CPU and graphics card do you have, and how much RAM?

  • 17.04 is no longer supported, so you definitely should not downgrade to it. Please also edit your question to clarify what hardware this is on, and ideally what exactly "slow" means.
