So, I've been trying to fix this for about an hour now, still cant find out why this isn't working. Anyway,

aplay -l

returns:

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

.

cat /proc/asound/cards

returns

 0 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xd0914000 irq 261

I've tried reinstalling alsa, I've verified that the channels aren't muted, and in the sound settings, nothing shows up in the output / input tabs.

I'm really confused, I don't know what to do. [I haven't been able to get sound working on here yet]
