Should I worry about conflicting versions of libgfortran?

I'm writing a fortran program, which uses netCDF. I have libnetcdff-dev (version 4.4.3-1) installed from aptitude (running xubuntu 16.04). To compile my program, I use gfortran 7.2.0 from ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test. After compilation and linking is done, I get the following warning:

/usr/bin/ld: warning: libgfortran.so.3, needed by /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnetcdff.so, may conflict with libgfortran.so.4

As far as I can tell, the program runs correctly.

Should I worry about this? Or is there a simple way to obtain a version of netcdf for fortran that is built with a newer version gfortran?
