launcher labels flicker

lately, when I pass over a launcher icon it's label will start flickering and I have to go back to that icon to stop the flickering. it's not the same icon every time. it only does this with the launcher icons. I'm using 16.04 lts right now. what can I do to fix this? thanx in advance.
