My PC makes a strange noise sometimes when I shut it down or put it to sleep. I have 2 HDDs connected to the motherboard. /dev/sda which has Windows 10 installed on it, & /dev/sdb which has Ubuntu 17.10 installed on it
I opened the case to determine the source of noise and tried putting the PC in to sleep, the sound seems to be coming from /dev/sda which has windows 10 on it. The sound seems as if the power is cut suddenly ( I don't know how to explain it) maybe it's the sound of HDD head I've no clue
I believe there's no problem with /dev/sda as the problem only happens when I boot from ubuntu /dev/sdb & try to power off the machine. So maybe it has something to do with Ubuntu. sdb doesn't make that sound though it is older than sda.
Is that normal ? Is it damaging my HDD or causing bad sectors ?
