After Installing 17.10, Keyboard and Mouse don't work anymore

I upgraded ubuntu to 17.10 from 16.04 and ever since I booted system, I don't have access to keyboard and mouse. My keyboard is backlighted so it's lights are working but the keyboard itself is not working. Please help. Should note that this is a dualboot, Windows 7 Ultimate E. and Ubuntu 17.10

Try booting from an 18.04 LiveUSB ("Try Ubuntu"). If the problem is in 18.04, then please file a regression bug.
