I have SSD (C:) and HDD(D:) in my laptop , Originally I have windows 10 on the SSD (C:), I installed Ubuntu on the HDD; using the partitioning tool in Ubuntu installer wizard to shrink the the partition (D:).

Both OS are working fine, but the problem is Windows can't see The HDD partition. even when using dickpart

DISKPART> list disk

Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
-------- ------------- ------- ------- --- ---
Disk 1 Online 238 GB 1024 KB *

Ubuntu can load the partition and the data still there.

Is there a way to debug what I did wrong, and how to fix that.

  • If you did not use Windows to shrink a NTFS partition, you may need to run chkdsk from Windows on it.
