I was playing around with my Panda PAU06 USB wireless adpater just turning Mon mode off and on. When I unplugged it I realised my wifi wasn't working I ran
sudo service network-manager start
This made my wifi connect for a split second before disconnecting. I rebooted and now when I enter my password it just leaves my with my wallpaper and a cursor none of the Ctrl + alt + f1 do anything.
Edit: I forget to mention that I ran
sudo apt-get upgrade
When I boot using kernel 4.10 I can login in fine. I now believe the issue is in updated graphics drivers from the upgrade
