i just changed my display driver option from open source to proprietary in order to use NVIDIA 940MX GPU for the android emulator.
Although i got some errors at the startup the GPU seems to be working well.
inxi -G
above command gave:
Graphics: Card-1: Intel HD Graphics 620
 Card-2: NVIDIA Device 179c
 Display Server: x11 (X.Org 1.19.5 ) drivers: modesetting,nvidia
 Resolution: 1366x768@59.97hz
 OpenGL: renderer: GeForce 940MX/PCIe/SSE2
 version: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 384.111
So i just want to make sure if everything is going right.
Please do tell if you need more information. I am a newbie in ubuntu so pardon me if my question isn't worth answering.
EDIT : i did notice my laptop getting warmer after using nvidia drivers and also battery draining faster
