Im new to ubuntu, shortly after setting ubuntu up i fiddled with the sound settings and screwed things up along the way :).

I was attempting to save alsamixer settings, and somehow got to a point that whenever i open the terminal (and some other programs, i.e VsCode) the sound settings change to a certain state (volume, balance etc...).
It's probably a script which is set to run whnever the terminal is open, but i'm unable to figure out how to remove this script.

I'd like to revert this behaviour, and instead have my alsamixer setup remain at whatever levels i set it up to.
any advice would be apreciated.

  • The following files might be executed: /etc/profile, ~/.bash_profile, ~/.bash_login, ~/.profile, ~/.bashrc.

  • Please search these ^ files for relevant commands, if you don't find anything edit your question and add their content to it.
