i recently installed Ubuntu 18.04 (dual boot with Windows 10) and I'm facing an annoying problem.

When I use my laptop screen only, everything is fine. When I connect my laptop to a second monitor (HDMI), the log-in becomes slower and whenever I try to go to system settings, the systems logs-out itself. Moreover, I can only hear sound coming out of laptop and not from the monitor.

I think there is something wrong with my Nvidia-drivers. Can you please help me?

My laptop specs:

CPU : Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.80 GHz
GPU : Geforce GTX 1060 6gb
RAM: 16gb

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I fixed the first issue with the log-out by disabling secure boot and re-installing my drivers. The only problem left is that I cannot hear sound through my monitor(hdmi).
