I have 14.04 LTS running on a laptop, i put it so sleep and when I work it up it was running slow and sluggish, I rebooted the machine and now when i boot it up after the GRUB it goes to a black screen and no further. If I go into recovery mode, the options are there but all of them fail at some point in the process and the system just sits there with a blinking cursor. I have to use CTRL+ALT+Delete and then the process starts all over again. Any assistance whatsoever would be greatly appreciated as this is my main and most important machine for work. The machine is duel-boot with windows 7. the windows boots just fine.
