I'm having the same problems as described in this thread. I have the same laptop (Asus x541u) that won't successfully install Ubuntu. I've tried in the past but have always gotten stuck on the copying files phase. I have installed Ubuntu on other laptops before and have never encountered this issue. Should I try with an older version of Ubuntu?
Before you can install Ubuntu onto this system you need to use the pcie_aspm=off kernel option to suppress the events.
I need some help understanding how to go about doing this. Thank you.
