I am a newbie Linux user (started 3 months ago). I was experimenting with desktop environment and ended up installing Mate Desktop and elementary OS desktop environment. The elementary OS somehow installed its kernel and the PC is now showing elementary OS instead of Ubuntu plus there are options like

+------------------------------------------------- ------+
elementary
+--------------------------------------------------------+
Advanced options for elementary
+--------------------------------------------------------+
elementary,with Linux 4.15,0-22-generic
+--------------------------------------------------------+
elementary,with Linux 4.15,0-22-generic(recovery)
+--------------------------------------------------------+

How can i replace this with Ubuntu kernel. Thanks in advance!

 • Best to see details: Post the link to the Create BootInfo summary report. Is part of Boot-Repair: help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Info It could be as simple as booting into UEFI and reinstalling grub from there. Is system UEFI or BIOS? All all systems in same boot mode? How you reinstall grub then may be different. Report should show details.
