Xbox One Controller Chatpad

I don't see any questions related to this. I was interested in switching to Ubuntu on my PC, but I like to use the controller to navigate the OS via mapping analog sticks to things like cursor movement and scrolling. Is there a software similar to controller companion for Ubuntu?
Another issue is the Xbox One Controller chatpad. I haven't seen any information on this. I usually use it as a way to type in Windows 10. I can't stand the on-screen keyboards I've used so far. The chatpad works really well. It appears no one has gotten it to work so far.
