So I tried fixing a cooler fan with a friend (it's unplugged and has been since it stopped working), we had to take off some bolts to try to take the cooler off (including a grounding cable we put back in place as it should).

Then I tried turning the pc on and I get a grub message error (unknown file system, grub rescue)

I try booting Ubuntu from there but the pc glitches out as I was typing the commands (kept typing a T) until I switched it off.

I turn it back on and now I get no display whatsoever- not even motherboard options. What should I do?

  • AskUbuntu is a great place to troubleshoot Ubuntu software, but troubleshooting hardware problems seems off-topic.
