screenshots no longer work for 4K monitor setups; 17.10 not in xorg, not in unity

and i'd love for it to get fixed soon-ish.



i'm using an nvidia 1050 card and the apt repository as drivers for it.
( per Ubuntu 17.10 - Nvidea 1050 drivers can't install, crappy video performance.. :( )



strange thing is, it worked two days ago or so, but i didn't get an updates offer nor was there anything i could upgrade today..

  • eh, xorg does take screenshots, but it doesn't write the full screen worth of pixels to disk, just a square from x1,y1 to x2,y2 and the rest of the image is transparent nothingness. unity don't take screenshots at all anymore, and that happened around the same time. i swear i didn't touch any config files or anything ;)

  • eh, xorg does take screenshots, but it doesn't write the full screen worth of pixels to disk, just a square from x1,y1 to x2,y2 and the rest of the image is transparent nothingness. unity don't take screenshots at all anymore, and that happened around the same time. i swear i didn't touch any config files or anything ;)
