Problem with booting (emergency mode)

I have Ubuntu 16.04 dual booted with Windows 10 on my Lenovo laptop. Since last week, I've been having this issue where trying to boot into Ubuntu results in me being stuck on a purple screen. The only way out of this is to shut off the laptop with the power key. After this, on trying to reboot to Ubuntu, it goes into emergency mode. After a lot of searching, I managed to get it to boot to Ubuntu, by typing two commands (mount -a followed by systemctl default). I need to do this every time I want to boot into Ubuntu. Is there any solution to this?
