I'm looking for a program that can show me the contents of archives containing images. I used the file manager DirectoryOpus on Windows earlier. DirectoryOpus can display images, navigate to the next image with Keyboard-shortcut. Delete, Rename Images and add new one to the archive, etc. DirectoryOpus does it all in the background, without unpacking and repacking the ZIP or RAR archive manually by myself.

DirectoryOpus is really useful if you have many sets of pictures packed in Zip or Rar.

I tried to run DO in Wine unfortunately without success. The manufacturer does not want to offer a Linux version.

I've been searching for a long time, but have not found anyting like this yet.

  • Did you try to run DirectoryOpus with wine (run windows app on linux)? If there is no alternative try it with wine.
