Recently prchased an old Lenovo x220. Installed Ubuntu off USB everything worked fine. One day then computer shut down due to the battery being drained. Since then, when I boot, it hangs/freezes after I successfully put in my password for sda5_crypt.

It’s just frozen on the splash screen saying “cryptsetup: sda5_crypt set up successfully.”

The other solutions didn’t work for me. I actually don’t knkq how to access a root terminal if my computer Ian going to this state without a live CD.
