I am not able to run update from 17.10. I am getting following error-

E: The repository 'http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty Release' no longer has a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
E: The repository 'http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-security Release' no longer has a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
E: The repository 'http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-updates Release' no longer has a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
E: The repository 'http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu zesty-backports Release' no longer has a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

However running following command shows

lsb_release -a

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 17.10
Release: 17.10
Codename: artful

Can anyone help me out to solve this as I need to install sendmail asap ?

Thanks.

Your sources say 'zesty' (17.04) which is EOL. Fix your sources to reflect 17.10...if you are really sure you are running 17.10. Had your release-upgrade completed without error, the upgrader would have fixed the sources for you. You should probably look into that.

If the box was mine; I'd browse (for me that is open in vim/view) the file /etc/apt/sources.list & check 17.10 lines are there; expecting to find 17.04 lines & 17.10. I'd then just comment out the 17.04 (zesty) lines using a "#" at the start of the line (commenting out makes it easier to back-out change than a delete). I suspect the 'in.' (country.code mirror) has caused the 17.04 lines to be missed... ps: vim/editor will need sudo
