What is the function of the list of loop devices? [duplicate]

Here, Usually i used to have the single Ubuntu partition but now as i will install more apps, i will see more partitions mounted to my machine. Usually it has occurred to me earlier with VLC, & now with this app, So as time progresses, it will be difficult for me to get a record of all this, so whats the alternative to snapd, i just want my single dev/sda1 their & a swap partition. I mean, how these apps now have access to the storage out of operating system.
